Happy Leap Year Day?

Happy Leap Year Day! Is that right? How do you say that? I guess since it only comes around every four years I shouldn't be too worried! ;o)

Yesterday was a busy day around the casa!!! My girl and I were cooking and baking up a storm! She loves to be in the kitchen and be my "helper". She likes to "work" hard. I love her and the fun things she says at this age! Pastor graduated from his class at the Baptist Association and they always celebrate the end of the class with a potluck. It was yummy! We made Shepherd's Pie and Oreo Peanut Butter Brownie Cakes. Mmmmm....

There are so many variations to Shepherd's Pie but here is how we make it in our family! It's my aunt's recipe. :)

Here's your ingredients! I used the largest bag of cheddar cheese, 2lbs of ground beef, 9 potatoes, 2 cans whole kernel corn, and two cans of creamed corn. You want to preheat your oven to 350. Go ahead and make your mashed potatoes and brown your ground beef seasoning as you prefer. Once that is done you start layering... This is how I do mine but you are welcome to do it how you want! Be sure to spray your casserole dish!

Ground Beef!

All four cans of corn!

Mashed potatoes!

Shredded Cheddar! Pastor says it needs two bags... Bake your shepherds pie for 30 minutes in the oven with foil covering it and then 15 minutes without the foil.

I advise you let it cool for at least 15 minutes before eating so everything is settled and easier to cut.

Next we moved on to the Oreo and Peanut Butter Brownie Cakes from Picky Palate. You can check out the directions there! The Pastor LOVED them. He loves anything with peanut butter though! Here's our pics!

My big helper girl! Funny she was more interested in the dessert one... :)

Gracie was sure there was something for her up here!

They turned out delicious!!! Everyone loved them!  Have a great day! Let me know if you try these recipes!!!

Pictures from the weekend!

It was a crazy fun weekend! Feeling very blessed! Take a peek!

We celebrated my mom's birthday on Friday with the Come to the Well tour! It was awesome!!! Mark says, "Church is like a Snickers. Sooner or later you run into a nut!" LOL!

Saturday I made this little beaut for her birthday celebration on Sunday. Cookie Dough Cake! Mmmmm, mmmmm good!

And that's how we celebrated her! It was awesome-- the cake too! :) Sorry I forget to take pics as I was doing it but I have another dessert in mind for you guys. That will be yummy too!!!

During my quiet time and since I have been meditating on Ephesians 4:29-32. What about you? What verses are on your mind this week?

Happy Valentine's Day!

How is your day going? Sorry it's been so long but last week the Pastor and I took off for some alone time. :) We had a blast!

How's your Valentine's Day going? I got a bouquet from my sweet girl. Then we headed inside for some school. It was a fun day for her!

Right now we are reading in Luke 5 about how Jesus taught his disciples about God's love. Then we went over John 3:16. We took out "the world" and used her name instead. She loves them.

Then we go to the fun part! Making some Valentine's with cookie cutters and paint! She loved it!

We even added an excerpt in Daddy's journal....

Gracie was less than thrilled with our mess making and stayed away.

After a while K realized she had paint all over her hands and that was the end of it! She said she needed to CLEAN UP! Well, it was fun while it lasted!

Anything fun you have or had planned for today? I hope you're having a great day and you know how much God loves you. The greatest love story ever told is what Jesus did for each and every one of us on the cross.

In His Amazing Love,
Jennis
