Happy Monday! I hope you're having a great day so far! My day you ask? Well I think perhaps the title of this post tells you a lot about my day thus far, but we'll get to that. Here are some pictures from yesterday that I love.
My father-in-law gave Kendall a chocolate donut filled with white frosting before church yesterday. He thought it was soooo funny, because she was going to be wired. What he forgot? She goes to the nursery. They didn't think he was so funny... :)
My girl didn't want to wait to be seated when we went out for lunch. So she seated herself.
Today for me was a hard day. My attitude stunk for the better part of the day. My tooth broke, Kendall poured Fruit Loops in the dog's food bowl, the dog did not eat the Fruit Loops but later tried out some baseboard, the cabinet is broke, there is water in the garage from the AC unit. Sounds like a bad country song right? Such a whiner. I needed an attitude adjustment. As I got caught up in the things that weren't going my way today, Philippians 4:8 came to mind. I call it the Philippians 4:8 filter and use it often on Kendall, my husband, and the kids at church. Just as fast came the second part of the scripture of Romans 12:2. "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind." For sure! Have you ever noticed how easy it is to think of all the bad things going on in your life or day? Then struggle to think of something good or positive? Try it. Right now. One thing you can complain about. Now think of something good to praise Him for. You had to think a little more the second time, right? In my case I did. God is so good though. He used a simple day like today to show me how blessed I am. That I have a home where things can get broken, things in the house to break, people (or Gracie) to break them or spill them everywhere. I am blessed. On any given day I probably can't remember all the ways God has blessed me on that day. I'll probably need that filter of mine a lot in my life. Thankfully God loves me, and He loves me too much to leave me this way! Thank you Lord for this day and all the blessings you most generously bestow on me. Change me everyday to be more like you.
"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things." Philippians 4:8
In His Amazing Love,
Jennis
